Production Design for Christopher Wheeldon's Nightingale and the
Rose
New York City Ballet, New York, NY.
For the the production design, instead of building sets, I created
watercolor
animations and computer generated graphics projected onto a series of
scrims.
The lighting was designed by Mark Stanley, and the costumes were
designed by
Martin Pakledinaz.
Below is an image of the moon animation. The eye came to life and
was a silent,
yet emotional, witness to the dancing on stage.
